Although the list below by no means covers everything we have to offer, we wanted to tell you about a few benefits of common types of glass for your home.
Annealed Glass
Annealed glass is the standard for residential windows. It is usually less expensive than other options, making it the more economic choice. However, that by no means makes it the most boring. Annealed glass is crystal clear by default, allowing large amounts of beautiful, natural light to pour into your home. Additionally, annealed glass is one of the many types of glass that can be easily personalized through tinting, coating, or frosting the glass. It is also one of the most versatile types of glass, as it is easy to cut into different shapes. This makes it perfect for different applications such as unique windows, doors, tabletops, and shelves. One of the best features of annealed glass is that it is easily repairable, making repairs or replacements more cost-effective.
Low-E Glass
Low-E Glass is coated with a virtually impossible to see layer of metallic oxides, which reflect heat back to the glass itself. Therefore, low-e glass contributes to the comfortability of your home in several ways. Not only does it naturally keep your space warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, it also blocks the sun's UV-rays which in turn prevents damage to and fading of your furniture, flooring, and artwork. Blocking UV-rays is especially beneficial for South and West-facing windows, which receive a lot of direct sunlight. Although low-e glass may have a larger upfront cost than other options, the energy savings over time provide large, long-term cost savings. Relatedly, low-e glass is more environmentally friendly than other types of glass, as it lowers your home's carbon footprint by reducing energy consumption for heating and cooling purposes.
Frosted Glass
Frosted glass does more than just provide additional aesthetic appeal to your space. On top of increasing privacy, it diffuses light coming into the space through the glass, creating a softer and more comfortable atmosphere for your friends and family. In this way, your energy costs are greatly reduced, as less artificial lighting is needed during the day. Additionally, frosted glass requires less maintenance than most, as the frost hides fingerprints, smudges, and streaks and therefore does not need to be cleaned as often as other types of glass.
Above is simply a brief mention of some of the benefits a few different types of glass have to offer. This short list is by no means a full report of what Nextech Glass can facilitate. In addition to the idiosyncratic benefits mentioned above, new glass of any type adds to the property value, curb appeal, and overall feel of your home. Set your mind at ease and enjoy beautiful glass with Nextech Glass.
